The ambience on the terrace is nice, inside it has nothing to do with a Viennese café. I simply averaged two visits: Visit 1 - The service was a bit confused at first, but in the end we got everything we wanted. It also tasted good. What I complain about is that no cards come to the table and prices are only given on request. There are also no prices on the notice board. The cakes are also not priced. A piece of average Black Forest cherry costs 4.10 euros (crazy!). It's even cheaper in the USA terminal at Frankfurt Airport and doesn't taste any worse. Visit 2 - A wonderfully warm and sunny October day. The terrace was unoccupied, but the chairs were strapped to the table. I therefore asked for a table outside because I did not want to sit inside due to the corona situation. A snappy waitress informed me that the day before (rain!) Nobody wanted to sit outside and that it was too cold for the customers today (sun!). The terrace is therefore not in use. That is absurd, the whole of Ahlbeck was sitting outside and partly naked on the beach. I asked if it was possible to unlock a table because I only want to sit outside, all the seating is there and 3 people would also come who also wanted to leave money there for a long coffee. No chance! We didn't stay then either. The snappy manner of the Saxon-sounding service doesn't work at all.

The staff were very courteous and the coffee was great. The cake was okay, but the ambience wasn't great. A different flair is expected in a "Viennese" cafe.

The best cafe on the promenade. The cake is homemade and always fresh. The staff are always friendly, even when there is a lot to do. The prices for this quality are, in my opinion, too cheap. Keep it up....

Very cozy, clean cafe. The cake is homemade there and tastes very good. Staff very friendly. Located directly on the Ahlbeck promenade. Can be reached with a wheelchair (3 levels) using a wheelchair lift. I'll be back ??

I was mocked by the unfriendly staff just because I asked for soya milk (and furthermore for any other plant based milk) with their coffee range and whether they would serve any vegan cakes - which they do not, as I was told. They claimed not to be "vegan specialists" and that it would not be economically viable in the area anyway to serve vegans. A couple of minutes later I had to overhear a staff conversation that "Stollen would not be tasty without butter anyway" - expressed with a volume level that made sure I could still hear it. Poor attitude for 2017 (almost 2018) in my opinion. Probably a good place if you are what they might consider a "normal" customer and if you fancy a fake smile - but I wouldn't know that. Not recommended.
